Bogota – A concept of public transport that goes beyond mass transit vehicles

Bogota, capital of Colombia, is now the second most populous city in South America. Despite the still serious social problems, Bogotá today is renowned for having one of the most efficient in the world transport systems. The administration of Mayor Enrique Peñalosa, before serious mobility problems, a new urban transport system in exclusive lanes, inspired by the Brazilian system of Curitiba, was created. Aiming to complete the mobility plan of action, bike paths were provided, Ciclorrutas calls that complement all the proposed system and will interconnect throughout the city. This article is the result of a case study in the city in 2014.
