Modeling, measurement and simulation of sustainability in urban areas

Abstract

The possibility to capture the essence of urban sustainability through analysis of variables sociospatial and technical-environmental, in order to base the development of a cities certification index is the aim of this research. It is thus undertake, the critique conceptual and methodological around the analysis parameters of certification and evaluation processes of sustainability nationally and internationally recognized. In this sense, the contribution of this research is to expand the debate on the development of new tools able to demonstrate qualitative and quantitative differences of sustainability social, economic and environmental in urban areas.
