The housing program of the bourgeois society of São Paulo in the late nineteenth century.

Abstract

The way in which needs are met at home alters according to the culture of a society. Therefore, this paper proposes a reflection on the functional program of eclectic mansions of the bourgeois society of São Paulo at the end of the nineteenth century, by analyzing the spatial organization of these houses, the decorating of environments and the new way of life of their owners.
