Keywords:

This article reflects about the meaning of the promenade in Severiano Porto’s buildings. The study focus on three projects of distinct functions, but with similar complexity and sizes—SOS Children’s Village Amazonas, Balbina Center of Environment Protection and Manaus Free Trade Zone Authority. The paper aims to understand the concept of movement addressed to each project, by analyzing its forms, configurations, functions, perceptions, tracing parallels and contrasts with Le Corbusier’s architectural promenade and Richard Serra’s existential promenade.
