The paper warns of the impacts from the multiplication of closed condominiums in urban space. Consecrated by marketing strategies as the panacea for urban insecurity, endowed with style and social distinction, gated communities have become a desirable typological model, however, erosion of public life and the rise of individuality are consequences of segregation imposed by their materialization. The paper presents a methodology for evaluating the quality of urban integration, applied in a condominium of the Minha Casa Minha Vida, in the municipality of Serra-ES. The results found warn against urban impacts caused by the proliferation of closed condominium.
