Urban landscape, architecture and representation

This paper investigates aspects of the relationship between landscape and architecture selecting as a conceptual support for first approaches to the topic, some Christian Norberg-Schulz and Aldo Rossi reflections, in order to build a reading of the Centro Cultural São Paulo project, with authorship of architects Eurico Prado Lopes and Luiz Telles. The project was conceived between 1976 and 1980, and it is seen as a major contribution for the city of São Paulo as one of the irrevocable criteria for rebuilding the project based on the attributes of the place – relief of Ave. 23 de Maio’s valley and the extension horizons. The analysis above demonstrate ways for representing concepts in the practice of architecture and identify procedures that link to working methods.
