Abstract

The Cultural Heritage Valorization Program in the Subprefectures is a educational course developed by the Department of Historical Heritage (DPH) of the city of São Paulo. It is aimed towards technicians from other units inside the City Hall that deal with the preservation of protected tangible heritage and also towards civil society in general; whereas only with the integration of these three jurisdictions (DPH technicians, in charge of indicating and justifying the protection of property; Subprefecture technicians, in charge of overseeing such protections and the civil society, to whom the conservation of these goods is intended) can guarantee the real preservation of the properties protected by law. The program consists of power point presentations organized by the subprefectures that include information about conceptual, legal and historical issues relating to the estates under governmental trust in each of the city’s administrative units.
