Practices in design and practices in art: representations, notations, architectures
Keywords:
representations, notations, architecturesAbstract
This paper discusses possibilities of exploring unconventional representations within architectural design, which resulted from other fields of artistic production. From this interaction follows the transposition of artistic practices to those of the architect, thereafter enriching such notational systems in the context of architecture, as in some propositions of Bernard Tschumi, such as the design for the Parc de la Villette. Furthermore, these issues open paths for an investigation of the relationship betwe- en operative choice of notational systems and prefiguration of the architectural parti. The in- vention of the architect is reflected both in the choice of modes of representation as in design decisions.
