Abstract

The existence of systems and theories that aim to establish an objective and transferable method defend a “scientific” position in the architectural response without using intuitive or arbitrary ele-
ments belonging specifically to the “artistic-sym-bolic”. These theories advocate the use of different repertoires, sometimes by analyzing the historical patterns immanent to the architecture in their spatial and temporal dimension, others resort to pure arithmetic combinatorial of different solutions to the same problem. This shift between the architect ́s subjective criterion to, either the collective consensus (intersubjective) or the subjective choice of the client-user validates the claim of objectivity of the theory, substituting the concept of authorship by the technical translation in the processes of ar- chitectural and urban generation through the own repertoire. Finally, we analyze methods, generation and application processes of these repertoires and the conflicts that can be derived, evaluating solu- tions and reviews to these models.
