Uncharted territory, the Western portion of São Paulo State, see its expansion during the 20TH century as part of the strategies around national and international connections, promoted along the “unknown and wild” territory, and the other parts of the country promoted by the railway transport system, combined with the consequent dispersion of industrial activities to the vector West. A scenario that faces once more time new transformations in the years 60, where the highway model of transport, starts to change part of the spatial and economic landscape, created initially by the railway transport system. Features of possible identification with the reading of cities called “Mouths of Backwoods” as a form of narration of the urban and industrial remnants, responsible to reveal this transition as the narrative of the heritage of mobility in the region, a true open-air museum.
